Children's Ministry

At Cedar Falls Baptist Church, we believe we are called by God to invest in our children as they are truly a gift from the Lord. We are committed to sharing unconditional love and tools to help them grow in the love and knowledge of Jesus Christ. Our goal is to inspire them by our example and dedication to the great commission and greatest commandment. It is our goal that all the children who come through our doors know:

  1. You are important to Jesus - Jesus said, Let the little children come to me and do not hinder them, for to such things belongs the kingdom of heaven (Matthew 19:14.) Throughout the Bible it is clear children are important and they are important to us.
  2. You need a firm foundation - Direct your children onto the right path and when they are older, they will not leave it (Proverbs 22:6.)  The time we invest in our children at a young age impacts the rest of their lives.
  3. You are the NOW generation - We will not hide these truths from our children; we will tell the next generation about the glorious deeds of the Lord, about His power and His mighty wonder (Psalm 78:4.) We know children are being prepared for the calling on their life and they make a difference now.
  4. You are the future leaders of our church - as our children grow, we recognize how important it is to support them and give them a church family as one day they will be the leaders.
  5. You are fearfully and wonderfully made as a unique individual by a God who loves you and wants to know you - we know for some, this may be the one time they truly experience God's unconditional love. It is so important to raise up children who know their worth in Christ and know their Father yearns to care for them.

Sunday School

Sunday School is a time for children to study the Bible through learning of different stories. They have the opportunity to participate in activities and crafts to reinforce what they have learned. Sunday School is broken into classes based on age:

  • PreK-Kindergarten (ages 4 and up)
  • 1st & 2nd grades
  • 3rd & 4th grades
  • 5th & 6th grades (6th graders have the option to attend middle school youth Sunday School based on Student & parent preference)

All children Sunday School classrooms are located on the Children's Sunday School wing.

Children's Church

Children's Church is a time for the children to experience worship in a way that is geared specifically for them and their needs. It takes place during the 11am worship hour and is open to children 4 years old through 2nd grade. During this time, children learn more about God's word and have a different interactive station to help reiterate the lesson being taught. Click on the image to see a glimpse of the wonderful things transpiring in children's church! Children go straight to children's church from Sunday School or upon arrival for the 11:00 worship hour.

Currently, we are focused on learning:

  • 23rd Psalm
  • The Lord's Prayer
  • 7 Days of Creation
  • 10 Commandments
  • the Fruits of the Spirit
Summer camp

CentriKid was an overnight camp for 2nd–6th graders to experience the time of their lives and learn more about the message of Jesus Christ! It was an AWESOME experience for all the students and adults who attended! We look forward to the amazing things to come from those who attended and can't wait to go back next year!
